For slightly dull knives or regular maintenance, start with the No. 2 CERAMIC slot. Use the No. 1 CARBIDE slot for dull or damaged edges that need a new edge set. Use light pressure.
What is the sharpening angle of SHARPAL 101N-G?
The knife sharpening slot of SHARPAL 101N-G is set at approximately 40° total, or about 20° per side.
How do I use the fire starter on SHARPAL 101N-G?
Pull the fire starter quickly through the No. 1 CARBIDE slot. When using it for the first time, several pulls may be needed to remove the outer black coating. Once the coating is removed, sparks should be generated as the fire starter scrapes across the crossed carbide blades.
Can I buy replacement fire starters for SHARPAL 101N-G separately?
Yes. SHARPAL 101N-FS4 includes four replacement ferrocerium rods designed for the SHARPAL 101N. The 101N-G version includes two ferro rods.
