FAQ
What tools can the SHARPAL 201H sharpen?
The SHARPAL 201H is designed for scissors and garden tools, including kitchen scissors, sewing scissors, household scissors, straight-edge hair cutting scissors, pruners, hedge shears, grass shears, loppers, and lawn mower blades, as long as the blade can be clamped securely.
What tools are not suitable for the SHARPAL 201H?
The 201H is not recommended for pinking shears, serrated scissors, nippers, or any blade that cannot be clamped securely. These tools require different sharpening methods.
What is the sharpening angle range of the SHARPAL 201H?
The SHARPAL 201H offers an adjustable sharpening angle from 22° to 84°, covering a wide range of scissors and garden tool blade angles.
How do I find the correct sharpening angle?
Use the marker method. Apply marker to the cutting bevel, make a few light strokes, and adjust the angle until the marker is removed evenly from the bevel. This helps match the original edge angle.
Do I sharpen both sides of a scissor blade?
No. Scissor blades are usually single-beveled. Sharpen only the beveled side of each blade. Do not sharpen the flat inner side unless you are correcting damage and fully understand the proper method.
Which diamond plate should I use first?
The 201H comes standard with 325 grit and 600 grit diamond plates. Use the 600 grit fine diamond plate for slightly dull scissors or regular maintenance. Use the 325 grit coarse diamond plate for dull, damaged, or worn edges that need more repair.
